Social Media requires full transparency when trying to engage an audience, or grow a brand. People tend to look elsewhere, when the information they need is not at the forefront of your page.

With the increased need for a social media presence in this modern day era, businesses thrive more when customers can locate their social media pages easily, and understand the content that’s being posted. But before anyone sees your content, your bio is glaring at them in the face.

There are six major things all business social media pages should include:

  1. Profile Picture: Use your business logo as your profile picture so you can be easily recognized and identifiable.
  2. Who you are: Include your full business name so people are aware of what page they’re on.
  3. What you do: ensure that your main services or a general statement on what your business offers is in your bio.
  4. Who you serve: are you targeting children, adults, a specific town or country? Are you offering your services to everyone?
  5. How you can be reached: A working contact is important for any social media page. While you always try to answer direct messages in a timely manner, some situations call for a phone call or a text message.
  6. Additional Information: If your business has a website, be sure to include the link in your bio, along with any call to action buttons that may relate to your business such as shop now, view here, order here and so on.

Your bio tells customers why they’re on your page and if done correctly, also tells them why they should stay there.
